Time to get to work!

It is now time for you to do your individual research. To be successful, follow these steps:

  1. Each member of your group needs to choose an area of special experience. Each expert will be responsible for completing evidence logs for that investigation.

  2. With your group, read the "known facts" together.

  3. Once you have chosen your special role for the investigation, click on the link to find out more about what you are expected to do.

  4. Make sure to fill out your evidence logs as you go along. These research logs will be vital as your group comes to a decision later.

  5. Come back together as a group and discuss the evidence you have discovered.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

Known Facts

Here are the facts that we know so far:
 

  • The incident occurred on the evening of March 5, 1770.

  • 4,000 troops are currently stationed here in Boston. The troops are here to enforce the Townshend acts of 1767.

  • We know that two Boston teenagers were involved in the early stages of the conflict. Click here for more information on these two men.

  • Shots were fired by the British troops. Click here for a list and description of the British soldiers.

  • Five Boston citizens died during the incident. Three of the citizens died at the scene and two died later.Click here for the names of the victims and what we know about them.
